Goals and Outcomes

  • Improve Productivity: In Year 1, TCFM were set with a productivity challenge of a 57k cost reduction which we addressed by implementing efficiencies to reduce hours and use equipment more efficiently. We initially reduced hours through the utilisation of Infogrid. This technology provided valuable insights into footfall and toilet usage, by incorporating sensor technology which would notify the cleaning team when areas needed cleaning to reduce the time wasted from our colleagues cleaning already clean areas. This enabled us to optimise cleaning frequencies in specific areas and achieve the desired cost reduction. We also introduced the use of BioHygiene products for our consumables. These sustainable chemicals not only benefit the environment but save this online retailer on costs as the chemicals require to be diluted by water and the reusable packaging means that there is a reduction of waste. This also lowers the impact on the environment as the more concentrated product requires less space when transporting and therefore has led to a reduction in the carbon emissions associated with transport. In Year 2, the goal of a further 81k cost reduction was met through continued efficiency improvements and a proactive approach to resource management.
  • Cleaning Standards: To improve overall cleaning standards, we invested in the thorough training of all colleagues using the iHasco platform. This comprehensive training, combined with a clear clarification of specifications and expectations, improved the cleaning standards throughout our operations significantly.
  • Health and Safety: Addressing Health and Safety standards, we utilised our extensive experience in cleaning within distribution. We operate with adherence to our detailed Health and Safety policies, ensuring a safe and secure environment for our customers and colleagues. All colleagues undergo Health and Safety training from day one of their employment at TCFM, instilling a Health and Safety mindset across the team.
