Goals & Outcomes
- More Professional Security Approach for VIPs
- The customers wanted a more professional and polished approach when welcoming VIPs, stakeholders, and other high-profile visitors to the site. Working closely with the customer , TCFM introduced new welcome procedures that ensured a consistent, respectful, and secure experience from the moment guests arrived.
- This included tailored briefings for security colleagues, enhanced front of house etiquette, and clear coordination with venue colleagues to manage arrivals smoothly.
- As a result, VIP visits were handled seamlessly, reinforcing the venue’s professional image and providing guests with a positive first impression.
- Implementation of New CCTV System at the Training Ground
- Upgrading the CCTV infrastructure at the training ground was a key objective to enhance site security, monitoring capability, and incident investigation.
- TCFM worked in collaboration with a third-party supplier and key stakeholders to ensure the new system met operational requirements and integrated with existing security processes.
- The project involved careful planning to avoid disruption to daily activities, alongside training for on-site teams in using the upgraded system effectively.
- The outcome was a modern, reliable CCTV network that improved coverage, increased deterrence, and provided high-quality evidence to support incident resolution.
Challenges & Resolutions
- Underinvestment in Security Technology at the Training Ground
- Years of underinvestment in security technology at the training ground had left certain areas vulnerable and reliant on outdated systems.
- TCFM worked closely with the customer to review existing infrastructure and identify priority upgrades. Together, we developed a long-term security plan that aligned with both operational needs and budget considerations.
- This plan included phased technology innovations and enhancements, ensuring that improvements were sustainable and delivered measurable benefits over time.
- The result was a significant uplift in security capability, providing better monitoring, faster response times, and a more resilient overall security posture at the training ground.
- Implementation of Protect Duty
- The introduction of the Protect Duty, UK legislation designed to enhance security at publicly accessible locations and mitigate the risk of terrorism, has brought new compliance requirements to large sporting venues such as this football club.
- The law requires venues to assess potential threats, implement proportionate security measures, and ensure colleagues are trained to respond effectively in the event of an incident.
- TCFM played an active role in supporting the club’s implementation of these procedures and policies.
- Our teams helped raise awareness of the requirements across colleagues, reinforced operational readiness through training and briefings, and embedded the necessary measures into day-to-day practices.
- This collaborative approach ensured that Protect Duty obligations were not only met in documentation but were fully operational on site, strengthening the safety and security of everyone at the venue.
Innovations
- TCFM Standard Technology Innovation
- Producing a full audit trail with robust vetting and right to work checks that cannot be overridden to provide an additional layer of security.
- Provides improved quality of training and service delivery.
- Security risk management and patrolling platform
- Time & Attendance system
Outcome
- The contract has demonstrated exceptional colleague stability and growth. Over the past two years, only one night officer has left the business due to relocation, while the stadium team has maintained a perfect retention record.
- This stability has been reinforced by notable examples of achievement and dedication, such as Paul Curran, recruited externally as a Team Leader and promoted to manager within just five months, and Mustafa Readdie, who has delivered 26 years of service via TUPE, bringing valuable continuity and deep site knowledge.
