Challenge and Resolution
- This academic publisher has a dynamic security environment with a risk profile that can change daily as a result of the number of assets secured and people protected.
- The sites are split over a large geographic profile with the main buildings situated on campus, each site has unique security requirements and we are agile in our approach to ensure our services are aligned at all times to their requirements.
Goals
- The customer requires a service that mitigates risk to people and assets. With this, we provide a robust solution to not only physical security but also promote a culture of safety and awareness.
- We have implemented a one team ethos and a don’t walk by mantra, working alongside all service providers who form part of the site management team to drive service levels as a collective.
Innovation
- Access Control: TCFM has worked alongside the customer to merge the two access controls into one single system. This has created a single point of failure with a single company controlling and maintaining the system. This is going to be rolled out across all sites to ensure further control and stricter measures.
- TrackTik: Allows for real time reporting of incidents, allowing automatic emails to the relevant TCFM and stakeholders whilst on patrol. It has also extended incident categories, enabling real time reporting of wider incidents relating to health & safety, cleaning, maintenance and fire services. Decision making is based on data and analysis, as facts and trends recorded by the software allow us to consult on improving protection. It has created an effective security operation, by improving transparency, officer morale, lone worker protection, asset protection, performance management and a managed threat profile.
- CCTV: We undertook a full review of the CCTV operation to establish if the system is fit for purpose, identify any blind spots and any remedial or replacement of certain cameras that are not working to full capacity. This is an ongoing project alongside CCTV suppliers to implement and continuously review updates and upgrades to the CCTV.
- Security Drills: We implimented security drills, and scenario testing, including fire scenarios, penetration, medical incidents, and the surrounding areas. This ensures our security team on site exhibits ‘muscle memory’ if an incident occurs. The incident response training is tracked and audited through TrackTik for all stakeholders to review. These are completed monthly by security colleagues to practice the process flows within the site incident.
