Our Strategy
We have built this strategy from four focal segments essential to our business’s social value framework:
Colleagues
Sustainability starts and ends with people. Only we can take action to improve the lives of our colleagues, the services we deliver, the communities we belong to, and the environment we live in.
We promote skills and employment opportunities for all, focussing on three areas: Apprenticeships, Diversity and the Real Living Wage.
Services
We are a responsible and conscientious business that delivers quality services ethically and legally. Through our procurement and operational leadership team, we are continually looking at alternative equipment, consumables and the latest technology.
Environment
We are dedicated to minimising our carbon footprint and to managing environmental risks associated with our services. As people are at the heart of everything we do, we have shared these goals with our colleagues and support them to adopt better, greener working practices using communication tools such as ‘switch it off’ notices, e-shots and Toolbox Talks.
Communities
We are dedicated to supporting local communities across the UK with fundraising and volunteering initiatives and health & wellbeing support. We also focus our spend on three areas: small and medium enterprises (SMEs); voluntary, charitable and social enterprises (VCSEs); and our supplier management framework (SMF).
Sustainable Development Goals
We are proud to be a family company from humble beginnings. However, our impressive growth means we have an increasingly vital role of responsibility in the lives of our customers, colleagues, communities, and the wider environment.
The SDGs are a blueprint to achieve a better future for all. They are a collection of 17 global goals set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015 and contain 169 sub targets to be achieved by 2030. They address the global challenges we face and cover social, environmental and economic development issues such as poverty, education, inequality, climate, water and food crises. The SDGs provide a focus for how businesses, governments and civil society can tackle these challenges to promote a more sustainable future for all.

As our family business continues to grow, our responsibility to further our ethical practices grows with it.

Our Pledge
The UN calls upon organisations to, ‘Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalise the global partnership
for sustainable development.’ We are dedicated to supporting this statement to benefit our colleagues, customers and our planet.
Adhering to our core values of respect, care, expertise and initiative, TCFM will:
Actively promote good mental health, wellbeing, and financial welfare.
Further our gender pay gap achievement and support gender equality.
Help the young, the disabled, and the disadvantaged into work.
Raise awareness of inequality and discrimination and fight against them in all forms.
Conduct our business responsibly and ethically with caring and fair labour practices and conscientious procurement.
Support charities with fundraising and volunteering to improve local communities.
Vision
To be recognised as the sustainable trusted partner of choice in creating social value through our everyday operations, making TCFM a great place to work and adding value to the customers we serve in the communities we operate to provide a sustainable future for all.
Improve awareness of climate change and our impact on the environment across TCFM.
