TC Facilities Management Signs the Armed Forces Covenant: A Commitment to Our Armed Forces

This week, TCFM proudly announced the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant, a pledge to formalise our dedication to supporting veterans, reservists, and the families of those who serve. This important milestone reflects TCFM’s deep respect and admiration for the Armed Forces community and its many contributions to our country. By signing the Covenant, we commit to continuing to build a welcoming workplace where the unique skills, discipline, and dedication of our Armed Forces colleagues are not only recognised but actively celebrated.

The Armed Forces Covenant

The Armed Forces Covenant is a commitment to ensure fair treatment and support for those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces and their families, recognising their sacrifices and contributions.

A Pledge for Equal Opportunity and Support

Signing the Covenant is not just a symbolic gesture for TCFM – it is our pledge to provide equal opportunities and a welcoming environment for military personnel and their families. We recognise that veterans and reservists bring an exceptional skill set, discipline, and resilience that enriches our workforce. At TCFM, we are dedicated to ensuring that these strengths are acknowledged and supported, enabling Armed Forces members to thrive in civilian careers.

Through our pledge, we will seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant by:

  • Promoting that we are an armed forces friendly organisation to our colleagues, customers, suppliers, contractors and the communities we work within.
  • Endeavouring to offer a degree of flexibility in granting leave for service spouses and partners before, during and after a partner’s deployment.
  • Striving to support the employment of veterans young and old to establish a further employment pathway for service leavers.
  • Seeking to support our colleagues who choose to be members of the reserve forces by accommodating their training and deployment wherever TCFM can.
  • Aiming to actively participate in Armed Forces Day, Reserves Day, Poppy Appeal Day and Remembrance Day activities calling upon the support of our veteran and reserve community and their families.
  • Continuing to support the employment of veterans, reserve forces, cadet adult volunteers and spouses through our welcoming approach to recruitment.

Support from TCFM Veterans

This initiative has been strongly supported by ex-forces members of the TCFM team, including Operations Manager Mark Towell, and Security Manager Neil Noblet. Mark and Neil exemplify how the rigour, discipline and organisational skills acquired during their armed forces career set them up to become natural born leaders in the facility maintenance industry.

Building an Inclusive and Supportive Environment

Creating an outstanding workplace fuelled by a genuine care for people is a core part of TCFM’s ambition. We are proud to build on our company ethos by offering career pathways and support systems tailored to the needs of veterans, reservists, and military families. This not only aligns with our values as an organisation but also allows us to better serve our customers and community by bringing in unique leadership skills and perspectives that the armed forces do best.

A Day of Recognition and Gratitude

The Covenant signing was formalised at TCFM’s head office at a gathering with Lieutenant Colonel Johnston and representatives from both the Armed Forces Covenant and TCFM. We appreciate everyone’s efforts in making this partnership possible and for their ongoing work in fostering an inclusive workplace.

We are dedicated to upholding our commitment to the Armed Forces community by strengthening our company culture and providing opportunities for those who have served our country.

Thank you to Lieutenant Colonel Johnston, Neil Noblet, Mark Towell, and everyone involved for making this partnership memorable. Together, we are committed to making a difference.
